This special scholarship honors the memory of Christine Frasier (1955-2005). We proudly offer this scholarship to a student as we acknowledge the virtues that Christine stood for, including devotion, kindness, humility, and integrity.

Memorial Tribute
Written in 2005
A beautiful flower has gone away from us, but not before she imprinted our hearts and minds with her warm and courageous spirit. Thus, Christine Frazier will live on forever. Christine, a dedicated and loyal Voorhees alumnus, died on September 9, 2005. A native of Charleston and a member of the Class of ’78, Christine served faithfully in the Charleston Alumni Chapter for many years. The members of the Voorhees family who had the fortune of knowing her, feel her loss in a great way. Christine’s contribution to Voorhees is immeasurable. She personified love for Voorhees through her tireless dedication and leadership. The entire Voorhees family will miss her regular attendance at college events such as Homecoming, Founder’s Day, National Alumni Meetings, and fund raising activities.
Christine’s most recent position in the Charleston Alumni Chapter was Vice President. However, she was not the type of person to allow a job description curtail how she served. She was instrumental in keeping the chapter afloat. We all miss the personal phone calls to remind us of meetings and other events. Also, like a genuine soldier she performed whatever duty was necessary. Sickness never deterred Christine from magnanimous performances either. With a tender smile, or a hearty laugh, she could be depended on no matter what the occasion. Christine was one of the best ambassadors that the college ever had. The Voorhees spirit seemed to permeate her very being. Her pride in her alma mater was evident in every way—from her license plate proudly displaying Voorhees College, to her positive actions in behalf of the college, to the warm smile she wore whenever she spoke of it.
Christine, your influence will reign forever. We simply love you.
